It is with great regret and a heavy heart that we here at Nintendo Wire inform you we’re bringing an end to our series of daily Badge Arcade updates starting this month. It was a difficult decision for the team to make, but ultimately came down to an issue of effort vs value, to which we felt our resources could be put to better use serving our loyal readers in various other areas of the site.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though! As frequent patrons and obsessive badge collectors ourselves, we still plan to dish out weekly Thursday updates when the Arcade regularly cleans house and swaps the majority of its catchers for brand-spanking new ones. This way you’ll still know when fan favorites trickle back in rotation, or if there’s a completely new set of badges worth decking out your portable pals with.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing fans and passionate Badge Arcade enthusiasts for their unwavering support over the past year. It’s because of you that we’ve been able to keep up with these dedicated daily updates for so long, and it’s the same reason we’ll continue to provide weekly coverage moving forward. Afterall, I don’t think I could fully stop if I wanted to at this point, as maintaining Badge Arcade News holds some of my favorite memories writing for Nintendo Wire since I was brought aboard last May. Thinking up silly names for everyone’s favorite cotton-tailed caretaker still manages to bring a smile to my face, not to mention all the (admittedly) cheesy puns informing you just how many free plays were up for grabs on any given day.

Again, thank you for all the support, comments, tips and, more importantly, laughs. Seriously, you guys rock, and that’s a rock fact.

As always, that’s all for today! Catch you Thursday!
