It’s hard to forget the impact Pokémon GO had back in July, and even harder to forget is the amount of money it made in such a short time. And while this lasted for a decent while, by the end of the summer it was clear that people were getting back to their normal lives and leaving Pokémon GO (and their GO related purchases) in the dust.

However, it looks like GO is making money once again. After the release of Generation II Pokémon last week, fans of the game were reinvigorated to start playing again, and it shows. GO has yet again become the #1 grossing iPhone game in the US, and stands at #3 on the Google Play Store. This is no doubt in direct response to players needing to catch the almost 100 new Pokémon that were introduced.

The last time Pokémon GO was at #1 in the US was January 4th, directly after the New Year’s event ended. The Valentine’s event hardly made an impact, and Pokémon GO has been struggling since then to stay in the lower half of the top 10.

Additionally, Pokémon GO is #1 in Great Britain, Denmark, Ecuador, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore and Slovakia. It’s evident that the recent surge in sales within the game shows the effectiveness of major updates, and we can only hope that they come more quickly moving forward.
