Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima has announced to Japanese financial newspaper The Nikkei that the Switch’s online services will cost between 2,000 and 3,000 yen a year. That’s approximately $17.50-$26.50, or roughly $1.50-$2.20 a month.

If the price is marked similarly across territories, this is an incredibly cheap deal. PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live are currently $60 a year, so the price listed is going to be at least less than half of that. Of course, we’ll have to see whether Nintendo’s online offerings are able to be up to snuff at such a price, but as it stands, the company’s offering a much cheaper package than its competitors.
