Wii U production has officially come to a halt in its home country of Japan according to the the official Nintendo Japan website. A notice saying “End of Production (in Japan)” was found listed in the Wii U section of the website earlier today, and it’s now displayed under each Wii U set.

This news shouldn’t come to much surprise as all the way back in November we reported that a similar notice was posted saying that production was coming to an end soon. Keep in mind that, at the moment, this only appears to be in the Japanese region; however, this change makes it appear that the era of the Wii U could officially reach its end.
