Pokémon is one of those franchises that can be really shaken up by hackers – training the “perfect” Pokémon is usually a lot of time and effort, after all. In response the Pokémon Company has started cracking down on those with detected altered save data by banning them from online services such as Game Sync, Rating Battles and more.

Apparently, 5,954 players have been caught so far and the company pledges to continue chasing down other hackers and restricting them without notice.
