UPDATE: Chucklefish Games has just announced that Stardew Valley is no longer in development for the Wii U and that a release for the Switch is currently in the works.

Farming simulation and role-playing game Stardew Valley was announced for all major consoles, including the Wii U, this past summer. The release, slated for “later this year,” has just received an all new trailer showcasing many of the features offered within the game.

Keep in mind that the trailer below shows off the Xbox One version of Stardew Valley, but you can be sure to expect the Wii U version to be just as endearing.

From farming, to mining, to forming friendships with characters, Stardew Valley’s entry to consoles is sure to please people who have loved games like Harvest Moon. While there’s still no confirmation of solid release date for this eShop release, 2016 is coming to an end pretty soon, so it’s likely that we’ll get wind of a date in the near future. Stay tuned for more news about the title as information about it is made available!
