A large update to Niantic Labs’s Pokémon GO could be on the horizon, which would introduce Gen II monsters, player-versus-player battling, trading and more to the mobile game.

The rumor is being reported by VentureBeat, which claims that people associated with Pokémon GO tracker PokéVS have found code within the app that would indicate these new features are incoming — and soon.

The update, which VentureBeat says should begin rolling out next month, could include all 100 Gen II Pokémon in addition to Mewtwo and Mew, as well as player-versus-player battling, trading and Tamagotchi-like gameplay.

However, VentureBeat says it remains to be seen if these features will arrive in an all-in-one update or if they will roll out slowly over time.
