During E3 only one third party game was confirmed for NX, and that was Just Dance 2017. Understandably, this didn’t set the world on fire, as the franchise continues to release on just about every platform under the sun (including the Wii), but it showed Ubisoft has access to NX development tools and was already making plans.

Now, in an interview with gameindustry.biz, the head of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Asian-Pacific (EMEA) division has let slip that the company has “other surprises” in store for the enigmatic system. Here’s the full quote:

“We announced that we’re developing Just Dance for NX and we have other surprises that we will announce later, but we also believe Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing. Nintendo is a fantastic powerhouse of brands that are really cherished by a lot of fans and families… I am still impressed by the reoccurrence of success and appetite even today for the Nintendo franchises on the current system.”

Now the question is what these surprises could possibly be. Nintendo fans will remember Ubisoft’s strong showing at the start of the Wii U’s life span with titles such as Zombi U, but this support slowly but surely dissipated as the console failed to reach massive sales numbers.

We’ll be sure to bring you more news as it comes in.
