Hyrule Warriors players just got their first new DLC character, Marin, and are no doubt eagerly awaiting news on the next batch. It seems like Nintendo and Koei Tecmo may have accidentally revealed them early, however, if a collection of placeholder sprites from the Japanese Wii U version of the game is to be believed.

The names of the characters are present atop placeholder images of Link, which are used for when characters talk during gameplay. They include:

  • – T ゼルダ – (T Zelda)
  • – ラヴィオ (Ravio)
  • – ユガ (Yuga)
  • Given that the next DLC pack is based on Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, “T Zelda” likely means Toon Zelda. Of course the question then is just what attacks and items she will use? Tetra never transformed into Zelda in Phantom Hourglass, and for the majority of Spirit Tracks she was a ghost. Perhaps we’ll see a return of the imposing possessed Phantom?

The latter two are more obvious and will be part of the Link Between Worlds DLC pack, if the leak is accurate. Given how unique they are as characters it will be fun to see how they play in the massive free-for-all battles of Hyrule Warriors.

We’ll be sure to bring you more news when Nintendo officially confirms the next DLC characters!
