Several months after Nintendo launched Super Mario Maker, it devised a way to help users search for and find fun, imaginative levels to play – a tool, for whatever reason, that was missing in the actual game. While Super Mario Maker Bookmark was certainly handy, many felt there was a lot of potential left unrealized. Now, fans have come up with their own system – one that succeeds in many of the ways Nintendo’s own website failed.

Makers of Mario launched its open beta today, giving users the ability to search levels by title, create “worlds” and much more. While several features are still in the works, the site may already prove useful for those looking for a more functional search tool for Super Mario Maker.

Currently, the site requires the use of a cookie generated by the Super Mario Maker Bookmark site to work properly, though the creators of Makers of Mario say this is only a temporary measure. Those interested in trying it out can find detailed instructions on how to get Makers of Mario working on their website.
