The Wii U indie title Runbow is about to head to the physical realm – and it’s not just for home console anymore.

Developer Nighthawk Interactive announced today during a brief Nindie showcase at E3 that a physical Deluxe version of Runbow would be heading to Wii U and New 3DS (where it will be known as Runbow Pocket). Runbow was announced as a 3DS title a couple weeks back, but now it appears to be a New 3DS exclusive (well, exclusive for handheld… you know what I mean.) The 3DS version will also utilize StreetPass features to share cards between friends and passerby.

Nighthawk also announced that fan favorite indie character Shantae would appear in the game, joining the already impressive cast of indie characters like Shovel Knight and Commander Video. No release date has been announced as of yet.
