Nintendo of America has confirmed that Metroid Prime Hunters will be releasing on the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow, further establishing the Wii U as the definitive console for all your bounty hunting needs.
Taking place between the events of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran is sent on a mission by the Galactic Federation to investigate and retrieve the “ultimate power” residing in various artifacts scattered across the Alimbic solar system by a long extinct race of warriors. During her investigation, Samus is challenged by six other bounty hunters who wish to claim the power for themselves.
The game is perhaps most notable for pushing the DS to its maximum potential, both graphically and through innovative use of the touch screen. Sadly, if the Virtual Console port of Mario Kart DS is any indication, online multiplayer won’t be supported, so fans of the series will have to settle for a strictly single player experience this time around.
