Both new games have been confirmed by the Wall Street Journal to be free-to-play. Considering almost all of DeNA’s other games use in-app purchases this likely comes as no surprise, but it’s nice to have confirmation.

Only time will tell if the approach will be similar to Miitomo, where most money goes towards cosmetic items and a minigame, or if these payments will be more integral to the overall game experience. We’ll be sure to bring you more news as it develops!
