Following their absence in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, the Ice Climbers are finally making a return – as a Super Mario Maker costume.

After first arriving on the gaming scene in 1985’s aptly-named Ice Climber, Nana and Popo became playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee and its sequel, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Since then, the pair has only made minor appearances in other titles, including WarioWare D.I.Y. and Art Style: PiCTOBiTS.

Now the two will be freely unlockable once their associated Event Course goes live in Japan and North America on May 13th and May 12th, respectively.

Check out the video above to see them – and their sound effects and course clear fanfare – in action.
