File this under “Dream Games”: Elite Beat Agents director Keiichi Yano recently sat down for an interview with Polygon in which he expressed interest in creating a sequel to 2006’s criminally underappreciated Elite Beat Agents.

Yano said “I think there will be a right time when it feels like [the series] should come back,” and that he would “certainly love to make another version of it, and hopefully it’s on the next platform,” possibly in reference to the still-not-officially-revealed Nintendo NX.

This could possibly hint that, assuming Yano has insider knowledge of the NX, the system has at least one touch screen, or some sort of touch enabled input. Of course, it’s also possible that Yano is simply expressing his desire to see the game made.

Yano also stated that he has a “great relationship with Nintendo” when asked who the decision to greenlight the sequel lies with. Regardless of who has to make the call, it is this reporter’s personal opinion that Elite Beat Agents 2 would, indeed, be the best thing ever and please do it, Nintendo. Thank you.
