Revolutionary. Timeless. Genre-defining. Few video games can lay claim to even one of these descriptors, but these 1993 classics somehow managed all of the above.

I’m talking, of course, about Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, The Legend of Zelda’s debut releases on the Philips CD-i.

While the two games received a lukewarm critical response upon their issue, today the titles are often cited for their laughable voice acting, dialogue and animation, and are often regarded as among the worst in the franchise.

Fortunately, fans can now relive the magic in incredible high definition!

YouTube user C4DNerd has released a mock trailer for a 2017 remake of both games, nailing their iconic (and hilariously awful) animation style. Check out the video below.
