According to an article published by GameSpot earlier today, a new entry in the Valkyrie Profile series is on its way to Japan– but for which platform is currently unknown.
Called Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin, the only info released about the game so far comes from a teaser website that recently went live.
Other than its title, its status as an RPG and a tentative Japanese release of Spring 2016, not much else information has been made available.
Gematsu, working from a translation of the teaser site, speculates that the use of the word “distribution” on the page indicates a likely smartphone release. The site also notes a few developers behind the game, including producer Yoshinori Yamagishi, composer Moto Sakuraba and scenario writer Daisuke Fujisawa.
The new game will join a franchise dating back to December 1999, which debuted with Valkyrie Profile for the PlayStation.
The series later made its way to Nintendo consoles in 2009, with the release of Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for the Nintendo DS.
