Last night, the SXSW Gaming Awards were presented on Twitch. This past year, Nintendo has seen some nice turnouts in terms of awards, with Splatoon and Super Mario Maker especially making a big splash in a multitude of genres across more than one awards show.

And, happily for Nintendo, it took home another win last night with Splatoon! In a rather unique and yet brilliant category, Splatoon nabbed yet another award for SXSW’s “Most Promising New Intellectual Property.”

Then again, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. With all the support the Inklings got for Smash Bros., the excitement for the inevitable Splatoon 2, and the overwhelming amount of people still playing, Splatoon has definitely set itself up for a good run.

Congratulations to Splatoon and Nintendo!
