At long last, American players can get a taste of the upcoming Bravely Second: End Layer! Its demo, subtitled Ballad of the Three Cavaliers, is now available to download from the 3DS eShop.

Unlike most demos, which take a part of the main game and limit it in some way, Bravely Second’s acts as a prequel. You play as the new character Yew Geneologia and adventure across the deserts of Harena alongside his fellow Crystalguard Cavaliers. There are side quests to complete, optional bosses to fight, and a variety of jobs to level up.

It’s possible to complete the demo in five hours or so, but if you strive to take advantage of all its content you could be spending over ten hours exploring the desert wastes. This longevity is pretty unusual for a free demo, but it’s sure to give players a definitive look at what the full game has to offer.

By completing various tasks in the demo you’ll also unlock certain items which you can transfer to the full game.

Bravely Second: End Layer launches April 15th in North America. Keep a look out for a review from us closer to release!
