Just a day ahead of the Pokémon Direct that was just announced yesterday afternoon, an interesting discovery has been made in the European Union’s trademark database.

Trademarks for the names Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have been found. Originally discovered by Nerd_Leaks on Twitter, could Sun and Moon possibly be the next installments in the main series of games? Please note that this should be taken with a grain of salt, as other names for Pokémon games have been trademarked without ever seeing fruition, such as Pokémon Delta Emerald. But what makes Sun and Moon interesting and unique among the other trademarked names is that logos have been discovered, corresponding with the trademark names.

Pokemon-Sun-Moon2

And, to combat any doubt that the logos could be fan made, they come straight from the trademark pages of the games. Interesting!

Pokemon-Moon

These leaks come conveniently just before the Pokémon Direct, which is being held tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00 a.m. EST. Keep in mind that the last time there was a Pokémon Direct, Generation VI was announced, so an announcement about new installments is not out of the realm of possibilities.

Stay tuned for more information on this rumor as we get closer to tomorrow’s Pokémon Direct!
