Pokémon Rumble World, the latest entry the adorable toy-based Pokémon spin-off series, came out nearly a year ago in April of last year. The free-to-start game was available worldwide on the 3DS eShop, and saw retail releases in both Japan and Europe towards the end of last year and at the beginning of this year, respectively.

However, this standalone version of the game never came to stores in North America. Why this decision was made was never elaborated on, but after months of waiting we’ve finally got its retail confirmation. Through a tweet made by Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account, it has been announced that Pokémon Rumble World will be hitting store shelves on April 29th.

It’s a little odd that the game is coming over a year after its eShop release, and so late after Japan’s and Europe’s retail releases. Nonetheless, the re-release of the game fits in perfectly with Pokémon’s on-going 20th anniversary.
