According to numerous sources, Mother 3 will be getting localized for the Nintendo eShop by the end of this year.

The rumors first came about after a few sources close to Nintendo shared the information via Reddit and Twitter. Since then, most of those posts have been removed, although some still remain. Furthermore, the folks over at Eurogamer had a source personally contact them and say that the game would be released in celebration of its 10th anniversary in Japan.

While none of this information is concrete, it does seem plausible. Mother 3 has been one of the most highly requested games to see a localization since its release nearly a decade ago, and much of the demand can be attributed to the continued exposure of Ness and Lucas in the Super Smash Bros. franchise, and the release of Earthbound Beginnings last year.

Nintendo has yet to comment on the rumors, but if there is any confirmation of Mother 3’s release in the West you can expect to hear it from us as soon as the news breaks!
