The hype is real: Nintendo has shared yet another Pokémon promo video with the world! In what’s titled “Pokemon red, green, blue, Pikachu digest video” on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, we get a whole five minutes chalk full of gameplay from Red, Green and Blue.

I don’t know about you, but every time that opening fanfare hits my ears, I get chills, and seeing it on the 3DS screen is no different, even if it’s simply a mockup. While the video is mostly just a standard gameplay video, that’s a really nice touch they’ve added: you get to see what it’ll look like on your 3DS. Specifically, your white Pokémon 20th Anniversary 3DS.

However, the gameplay does skip around and show some key moments in the story. We’re immediately greeted with a Pikachu encounter in Viridian Forest, which the player quickly nabs. We’re then shown a battle with the game’s first gym leader, Brock, and the player purchasing a Magikarp from the mysterious man, which then evolves right in front of our eyes!

We get a glimpse of Cycling Road and Lavender Town, whose main tunes are all but opposite in mood, and we see the player waking Snorlax with the Poké Flute, and the proceeding battle, as well.

The video finishes off with some footage of the new wireless trading method, and we even get to see a Machoke evolve via this trade! Players of the original will remember the pain of needing a link cable to do anything with a friend. Luckily, Pokémon players of this generation don’t have to suffer in the same way.

If you’d like to check out the whole video, it’s only five minutes long and definitely worth your time. If this doesn’t get you pumped for the upcoming releases, I don’t know what will!
