UPDATE (1/30): Video footage of the Squid Sisters concert form last evening is up on YouTube! Thanks to YouTube user kuroneko0509 for the video!

It’s no secret that Splatoon has won over the world since its release earlier this year. Since then, Nintendo’s given us a plethora of free DLC that has really illustrated exactly how much the company has taken an interest in its newest IP. Considering Nintendo’s constant stream of ink-filled updates and genuine enthusiasm and support over the game from fans, it shouldn’t really be a surprise that sales for Splatoon in Japan have already surpassed the 1 million mark across retail, download and bundle purchases.

To celebrate the exciting landmark, Nintendo announced that a concert called “Splatoon Squid Sisters Live 2016” will be hosted at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan on January 30th.

How cool is that? There’s no stop for Nintendo’s knack for innovation, especially when it comes to special events. Check out the video below for the official announcement!
