The newly announced Nintendo 3DS game, Detective Pikachu, has fans in North America petitioning to have actor Danny DeVito voice the English localization of the game.

The petition started by Sairith Aramor on Change.org requests that Danny DeVito voice the detective and at the moment has over 17,000 signatures. The number continues to grow every second and has a goal of 25,000 signatures. While this might seem like an unrealistic request, some fans believe Danny DeVito is a perfect fit for the job.

“There are a number of us that feel as though Danny DeVito would be a prime fit for the voice acting role of the Detective Pikachu,” said the petition. “We want to make this happen.”

Whether or not Danny DeVito will actually voice Detective Pikachu in the localized version of the game, we’ll have to wait and see, but fans who live in Japan can purchase the new eShop on February 3rd.
