Following the release of yesterday’s Detective Pikachu announcement, all Pokémon fans outside Japan have been anxious for any sort of hint or announcement that the game will be localized. Unfortunately, no such announcement has been made, yet many believe that with the name of Pikachu’s partner, Tim Goodman, sounding painfully American, that the game still has a chance of making it overseas.

DetectivePikachu-Friends

In the meantime, though, if you’re itching to know a little more of what the trailer is about, GameXplain has posted a video on YouTube with fully translated English subtitles, thanks to a user by the name of solarsaturn9.

The English translation is, more or less, what you’d expect. Pikachu talks about the mysterious city he lives in and the responsibilities of being a great detective. The name of the city has still not been revealed to us, leaving the game’s setting a mystery in and of itself. Additionally, and if you’re like me, you missed this without the translation, the game will feature other Pokémon, meaning that Pikachu isn’t the only Pokémon that we’ll be dealing with in this game.

Check out the full translation below!
