Hyrule Warriors Legends has officially hit stores shelves– at least in Japan– as of just a few days ago, and with the full game now in the hands of players, a little more information is available to the rest of us around the world.

One particularly interesting and useful piece of information is the fact that the Japanese version of the game is also available in English. Yes, the copies of the game released in Japan are available with English subtitles, text, and even voices and dubs! However, the only way it appears that these can be accessed is via a hacked or soft-modded system. English dubs do see some popularity in Japan, just as the reverse is true in English speaking regions, so this should come as no surprise. Despite the game still being region locked (sorry guys, you’ll still need a Japanese 3DS to play!), all the details surrounding the game’s new plot and story are free to the world because of the already existing translation.

For everyone who wants to wait and play it themselves, it shouldn’t be too difficult to avoid spoilers. If you want to see an example of the English compatibility, though, you can check it out here!

Hyrule Warriors Legends will be available in Europe and Australia on March 24th, and in North America on March 25th.
