The future is now for New Nintendo 3DS owners, as a GBATemp.net user named shutterbug2000 got Windows 95 to run on his New Nintedo 3DS.

Other users of the forum stated they were also able to get Windows 95 running on their systems by using a new Homebrew process, but from the photos and video posted by them, it appears the functionality of the operating system is extremely limited.

The forum is currently filled with 3DS users dreaming of playing their favorite classic Windows games, such as Minesweeper, but that seems to be a long way down the road at the moment. Like we mentioned, the functionality of this is very limited; however, some users are confident about the future of this development and believe there’s a lot of untapped potential. Whether or not that becomes a reality, we’ll have to wait and see. It’s definitely something worth checking out!
