Capcom and Nintendo aren’t strangers to collaborating, especially with the Monster Hunter franchise. Just a few weeks ago we saw a Felyne pop up as a client in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, and that’s nothing on the many Nintendo-themed costumes and gear that have appeared in the Monster Hunter games over the years.

Now Super Mario Maker is getting in on the Monster Hunting action, with a new event course and Felyne Mystery Mushroom costume, the latter of which you can see in action below:

The event course is known as Ma Rio Hills (get it?), and in true Monster Hunter fashion the player will control the Felyne as it makes its way from camp through fields of massive hostile beasties.

The Monster Hunter event course and costume are available now!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
