Through its official YouTube channel, Nintendo has just released a new video celebrating what the holidays are really about.

The video starts out simple: it reminds us how stressful the holiday season can be, and then proceeds to show us various clips of some of our favorite holiday gripes, from standing in long lines, to trying to find mall parking, only to have your spot stolen.

Then, the video takes a turn for the sweet, when a large screen is placed in the middle of an unnamed mall. Marked with Mario’s famous silhouette and the words “Jump Here For Fun,” the board encourages mall-goers to approach it and follow the instructions. On doing so, Mario appears and engages with the viewer, even asking for their name and repeating it back to them.

It’s really quite a cute video, but things get extra good once Mario starts asking people about the holidays. I won’t spoil it for you, because I’m really encouraging you to watch it for yourself. It’s a great, fun little ad that does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it is absolutely perfect for this time of year.

It’s sure to make you happy and, if you’re like me, might even bring a tear to your eye. (It’s okay to admit it.) Enjoy!
