Pokémon fans know just how much of a merchandising empire the franchise is. With numerous real-world Pokémon Centers around the world selling exclusive t-shirts, plushes and figurines, to catch them all in real life isn’t a cheap hobby.

Things are about to get even more expensive though, with the announcement of a new $367 plush Pikachu from German toy company Steiff.

Steiff is a well-respected manufacturer of high quality traditional teddy bears throughout the world, founded in 1880. An iconic distinguishing feature of their toys is the “button in ear”, a small tag with their logo which was designed to deter counterfeit copies.

Licensed toys like Pikachu aren’t Steiff’s main focus, but they have produced plushes of iconic characters like Bugs Bunny and Eeyore in the past. This only goes to show just famous the little electric mouse has gotten over the last two decades.

Pre-orders for the new Pikachu plush will go live on Amazon Japan and the Goodsmile Online Shop later today. Would you ever consider picking up this adorable and exceedingly fluffy new Pikachu plush, or is the price just way too much? Let us know in the comments!
