Atlus’ quirky, endearing medical drama, Trauma Team, originally released for the Wii in 2010, will be available for download on the Wii U eShop for $19.99 starting tomorrow, December 3rd.

Trauma Team is the fifth entry in the Trauma Center franchise, an interactive visual novel series that combines fast-paced mini games with manga-style storytelling. This entry takes the action beyond the operating room and follows the day-to-day occupations of multiple characters, from surgeons to ambulance drivers, and everything in between.

Its release marks only the seventh Wii game on Wii U’s virtual console in the United States, and the first from a third party developer. While it would be nice to see more Wii titles hit the Wii U eShop, I can’t help but admire the odd (and sometimes rare) selection of games that have made the cut.
