We may have some good news for fans of the waggle-controlled Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. A listing for the upcoming Wii U re-release of the title on Nintendo of Sweden’s website seems to confirm that the HD remake will be playable with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck combo. Don’t worry though! If you prefer the more traditional controls of the GameCube version, the game supports the Wii U GamePad, as well. No word yet on how these control options will affect Link’s handedness or Hyrule’s orientation.

WiiRemote-Nunchuk

Though it would be nice to see Pro Controller support listed, it looks like Nintendo is planning to at least satisfy the basic control setup for fans of either version of the game. Hopefully the GamePad will see some of the touch screen and tilt functionality that we saw in Wind Waker HD, as well.

One other small thing to note is that the page also claims both read and write support for amiibo. We could have inferred this from the news in the recent Nintendo Direct that the Wolf Link amiibo will carry data from Twilight Princess HD to The Legend of Zelda for Wii U. But since the game supports the five Smash Bros. Zelda amiibo, we have to wonder if they, too, will make use of the amiibo write function in some capacity.

Keep an eye out for more information as we get closer to the game’s release on March 4th, 2016.
