A taste of the Omegathon, PAX Prime’s gruelling, unpredictable, and sometimes humiliating yearly tournament, is coming to Super Mario Maker tonight. The final round at this year’s convention was a custom Mario level, developed internally at Nintendo, specifically for the competition. The level will be added to Super Mario Maker’s Event Courses, this evening, at 5:00 p.m. PST.

The beauty of the Omegathon is that the competitors never know what to expect. One round could find players busting out dance moves in front of a Kinect, and in the next they might be racing to collect of piece of the Triforce in The Legend of Zelda.

When presented with Nintendo’s punishing, tournament-grade level, neither of the competition’s finalists were particularly enthused. The two took turns tackling the level for almost an hour before one of them finally managed to reach the end, claiming an all expenses paid trip to Tokyo Games Show.

Check out the level tonight, pretend you’re playing in front of an auditorium filled with thousands of screaming fans, and see if you have what it takes to be an Omeganaut next year!
