No franchise quite does crossovers like Capcom’s Monster Hunter. You may remember the last game offered up costumes from a wide variety of Nintendo properties, from Mario to Animal Crossing. Of course the Zelda collaboration was one of the highlights, letting your hunter don Link’s Skyward Sword tunic and take down all manner of beasts with the Master Sword.

The upcoming Monster Hunter X is already shaping up to carry on the tradition, but this time the incredibly cute felynes are getting in on the Zelda cosplay action:

That’s right, you can dress up your newly playable felyne in a costume based on the fittingly cat-eyed Toon Link. His animations look a little strange, to say the least.

Monster Hunter X will also feature costumes based on the giant robot anime Macross and, um, Sanrio’s sentient piece of salmon, Kimiri-chan. Are there any other costumes, Nintendo or otherwise, you’d like to see in the upcoming 3DS title? Let us know in the comments!
