This coming weekend, when most people will be celebrating Halloween and probably forgetting to set their clocks back one hour in honor of the end of Daylight Saving Time, Nintendo is encouraging a trick-or-treating event of its own. In what’s being called the National StreetPass Weekend, bringing your 3DS system by one of 29,000 Nintendo Zone Hotspots between October 30th and November 1st could get you a nice little treat. The best part is that the only trick is finding one of the official hotspots!

Participating in the National StreetPass Weekend could bag lucky gamers up to six special StreetPass tags, helping in a litany of games, from StreetSmash in Super Smash Bros. to additional Miis to help fight back against things that go bump in the night in Monster Manor and Battleground Z StreetPass games. For those hard workers in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, a special character named Filly might show up as well, who is currently exclusive to Nintendo Zones.

Halloween and trick-or-treating could be a great opportunity to StreetPass with fellow gamers throughout the night, but of course, not every costume is equipped with the best pockets for carrying handheld devices. So head to your nearest Nintendo Zone and treat yourself to some StreetPasses courtesy of Nintendo.
