When it comes to video game crossovers no franchise can quite match the variety of Monolith Soft’s 2012 strategy RPG Project X Zone for the Nintendo 3DS. Featuring characters from across the libraries of Bandai Namco, Capcom and Sega, players could make huge stars like Street Fighter’s Ryu call in support from Space Channel 5’s Ulala and rain death upon enemies with the help of Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone. Needless to say, it was a joy for Japanese game aficionados.

With Project X Zone 2: Brave New World the roster is expanding even more, with Nintendo characters joining the fight. Fire Emblem Awakening’s Chrom and Lucina will find themselves at home in the turn-based SRPG world, but this time the combat they face will be a lot more combo focused.

As for Xenoblade Chronicles, it may come as no surprise to see Shulk’s childhood friend Fiora making an appearance, considering Monolith Soft developed both games. Of course, this also means fans of the developer’s previous “Xeno” game, Bandai Namco’s Xenosaga, will be in for a treat as Fiora will be forming a pair unit and fighting alongside the iconic KOS-MOS.

Bandai Namco released a trailer announcing the characters during the Tokyo Game Show, which you can check out below:
