Splatoon’s trickle of post-release content has begun to slow down a bit. Sets of weapons have become singles, and it’s been nearly a month since the last new map, Flounder Heights, joined the lineup. But the summer of Splatoon isn’t over yet, as tonight at 7:00 p.m. PST, Hammerhead Bridge will be added to the map rotation.
The bridge is a two layer construct with support structures jutting skyward in the center, emphasizing the map’s vertical nature. Layers of transparent grating ensure that attacks can come from any direction, including above and below, at any time.
Hammerhead Bridge is the last Splatoon map that we had already seen in promotional material, and a dozen maps seems like a good round number for the shooter. It’s anybody’s guess what additional content we might see in the coming months, so keep those tentacles crossed!
