Released back in 1997 for the original PlayStation, Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee was an unusual but memorable experience that unfortunately never made its way to the Nintendo 64. Thankfully, the game’s original creator and his team at Oddworld Inhabitants decided to remake the entire game in HD with the Unity engine, and after 18 years Nintendo fans will finally be able to experience the strange adventure on Wii U.

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty stars the scrawny alien Abe, who accidentally stumbles upon the dark secret behind the meat products he is forced to manufacture and tries to make a break for it. The game takes a slow methodical pace as you outmaneuver guards, scale walls and solve puzzles. You can also help some of your fellow co-workers escape by giving them directions and guiding them to safety. Or you could just hammer a button and fart at each other for 20 minutes; that’s an option too.

Expect to be playing Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty later this year.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
