It looks like the Wii U may be losing one of its precious few third party exclusives. Polygon has pointed out that a game titled simply Zombi has been listed and rated for release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in both Taiwan and Australia. Being published by Ubisoft, it seems pretty clear that this is a reincarnation of the fantastic Wii U launch title ZombiU.

Personally, I’m not convinced that the game’s integrity will survive this transfer intact. Zombi U focused heavily on the Wii U’s GamePad, and incorporated it in many clever ways. Part of me was very disheartened to hear this news, as I was a huge fan of ZombiU. Not only is it one of the only examples of true third party attention for the Wii U, but it also made one of the best cases yet for the utility of the GamePad. On the other hand, the game was a commercial failure, and it’s great that more gamers will finally be able to get their hands on it.

There has been no official announcement from Ubisoft about Zombi, but it seems likely that we’ll be hearing more about it soon.
