Fans of the Blue Bomber are getting ready to go old school as Capcom revealed the Mega Man Legacy Collection coming later this year. The collection of retro titles will include the first six original Mega Man titles, all given a new coat of polish to make the games shine in landscape of 2015. The announcement trailer promises that the collection will be 8-bit style with HD flair, meaning the games will be as faithful to the originals as possible.

In addition to the classic games, developer Digital Eclipse is also adding in a few new exciting features for fans of the franchise, including a Challenge Mode and leaderboards, so you can compete with friends. In Challenge Mode, there will be specific moments taken from each game and turned into challenges for seasoned Mega Man players to tackle. Also, a Museum Mode appears to show off the legacy of artwork that the Mega Man franchise was created from, but also inspired later on. Another feature, simply labeled “Replays” is mentioned, although no details regarding what that exactly entails have been made available yet.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection will cost $14.99 at launch, and will be available as a downloadable title for the PS4, Xbox One and PC this summer, with a release on the Nintendo 3DS coming late this year. No word as to whether or not it will be available on the Wii U, but hopefully more details will be announced at E3. If the collection does come to Nintendo’s home console, it’s hard to imagine that there won’t be amiibo support with the Mega Man figure from the Super Smash Bros. line of amiibo integrated somehow.
