Princess Zelda will be saving Link from Ganon’s clutches this time in her very own game – The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Announced during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, its reveal nearly tricked fans that a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was in the works. (Depending on where Echoes of Wisdom falls in the timeline, this could still be the case.) Using the style of the Nintendo Switch version of Link’s Awakening, Echoes of Wisdom will have us exploring Hyrule as Zelda with a mysterious fairy called Tri. Thanks to the power of the Tri Rod, Zelda will be able to defeat enemies by creating Echoes of furniture, foliage, enemies, and more.

When will The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom release on Nintendo Switch?

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will launch on Nintendo Switch on Thursday, September 26th, 2024.

 

Will The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom get a physical release?

Yes. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be available physically in North America as well as digitally via the Nintendo eShop.

 

Where can I pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

Currently, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can be pre-ordered for $59.99 at the following retailers:

Listings for the following retailers aren’t currently available: Amazon and Walmart.

 

Notes:

  • Pre-orders might also be available at Nintendo New York. If not, copies will be available on launch day.
  • There is a chance that listings for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom may change from “Pre-Order” to “Sold Out” or “Coming Soon” or lists the release date. More stock may be available at a later date or closer to launch (due to more shipments or cancellations). It depends on the demand for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as well as if it’s a special release (i.e.: limited edition, bundle, etc.).

 

Is there a limited edition or special edition of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

No. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will only be available as a standard edition (physical and digital).

 

Has DLC been announced for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom prior to its release? If so, will it be free for a limited time at launch?

No. Currently, DLC (free or paid) hasn’t been announced for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

 

Will The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have a midnight launch?

Yes and no. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will released digitally on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 at 9 p.m. PT (Thursday, September 26th, 2024 at 12 a.m. ET) via the North American Nintendo eShop. Physical copies will be available on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 during retailers’ store hours. Digital versions will also launch “early” in other regions, provided that the digital version was purchased using their eShop (you’ll need to make a region specific My Nintendo account in order to do this).

Currently, no retailer has confirmed a midnight launch for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Nintendo New York may host a launch event/part for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This will be announced closer to Echoes of Wisdom’s release date. For more details, you can check out Nintendo New York’s social media pages (Instagram and Facebook). A Warp Pipe Pass reservation (made through the My Nintendo site) may be needed to participate in on site events and picking up your pre-order.

 

Are there any pre-order bonuses or gift with purchase offers for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

Yes, the following retailers in the United States have announced they’ll be offering pre-order bonuses (while supplies last): Best Buy and GameStop.

 

Best Buy – Acrylic Diorama

 

 

Best Buy is offering an acrylic diorama recreating The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom box art. According to Best Buy’s fine print, “Offer beings 8/04/2024 online, while supplies last. Pre-order of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom required. Acrylic diorama will be provided upon receipt of game. Limit one per person. Seep participating retailers for details.”

 

GameStop – Fabric Poster

 

 

GameStop is offering a fabric poster featuring Princess Zelda wielding the Tri Rod and Tri (a mysterious fairy that will aid Princess Zelda saving her kingdom). According GameStop’s fine print, “Pre-order or purchase of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom game required. Limit one fabric poster per purchase. Fabric poster size is 18″ x 24″. Deposit is required for pre-orders. Offer starts 9/26/2024 while supplies last. Fabric poster will be provided upon paid balance and receipt of game. See participating retail locations for details.”

 

Note: If Target offers a “gift with purchase” item, it won’t be known until the week or two of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s release. Target typically announces their offer in their weekly ad. Previous pre-orders with in-store pick up select may qualify for this gift with purchase. Be aware that the gift with purchase item is available to first come, first serve, and available while supplies last.

 

Are there any pre-order bonuses exclusive to Canada, Europe, or Japan?

Yes, there are pre-order bonuses exclusive to Canada, Europe and Japan. These bonuses can, technically, be acquired by pre-ordering The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom through a proxy service (they’ll have the order shipped to them and then they’ll ship it to you). Keep in mind that there is a chance that some of these items may also be offered in North America (if the pre-order bonuses haven’t been announced yet).

 

GameStop Canada – Print (One of three designs)

 

 

GameStop Canada’s pre-order bonus is one of three art different prints at random (each featuring a piece of key art from the game). According to the fine print, “Offer valid until 9/25/2024 and is available while supplies last. Pre-order of the Legend ofZelda: Echoes of Wisdom game required. The art print will be provided upon receipt of game. Only one out of three designs will be randomly selected and included with your order. See participating retail locations for details.”

 

My Nintendo Store UK – Keyring and “Bonus Item” Wall Scroll

 

 

 

The My Nintendo Store in Europe is offering a variety of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom bundles. Any bundle of the game will come with a Zelda Keyring. Another item exclusive to the store is a Wall Scroll featuring the game’s box art (it’s only included in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom + Wall Scroll bundle). (Items are not to scale.) Orders will only ship within Europe.

 

Amazon Japan – Die cut Stickers

 

 

Amazon Japan has an exclusive bundle for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom that includes a die cut sticker pack. 10 different designs are included.

 

I pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom at a specific retailer when a pre-order bonus wasn’t available. Now that retailer announced they’ll have a pre-order bonus. Do I still get the item?

Most likely yes. You’ll need to read up on the retailer’s Terms of Service regarding pre-order bonuses. In the past, retailers like Best Buy automatically applied the pre-order bonus to all pre-orders made before they announced their offer and sent an e-mail out confirming this (i.e.: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom).

 

Help! My pre-order was canceled!

If your order wasn’t canceled due to insufficient funds/payment issues, it might have been canceled due to stock issues. Retailers have over sold certain games in the past (due to not receiving the number of units they thought they were getting). If your pre-order of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was canceled, more than likely you’ll have to reorder through another retailer.

 

Is there a game demo of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

Technically, yes. A demo of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be available to play at PAX West 2024. This demo can only be played at the venue at Nintendo’s booth (Booth #1939 in the Arch Expo Hall) during event hours. For more details, you can check out Nintendo’s press release issued earlier this month for more details. Also, attendees that check in with their My Nintendo QR Code can also get a Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom lapel pin (while supplies last).

 

 

Will there be a The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom-themed Nintendo Switch?

Yes. Nintendo announced that a Nintendo Switch Lite themed after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be available at launch (referred to as the Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition). This Nintendo Switch Lite will cost $209.99 and includes a 12-month Individual Membership for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack (MSRP $49.99). It is currently available to pre-order at the following retailers:

  • This Nintendo Switch Lite may also be pre-ordered in-person at Nintendo New York (while supplies last). If not, stock will be available on launch day.

Will there be an amiibo released with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

Yes. Reprints of Princess Zelda (from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker) and Link (from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening) amiibo will be available when The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches on Nintendo Switch. These amiibo will be available individually for $15.99 each. Will there be a limited edition The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Nintendo Switch Pro Controller?

No. Nintendo hasn’t announced a limited edition Nintendo Switch Pro Controller themed after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. If Nintendo announces this leading up to The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s release, this section will be updated. Yet, given how close we are to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it’s unlikely we’ll see a special Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

 

Will there be other Nintendo Switch accessories (cases, controllers, etc.) themed after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom at launch?

No. Any Nintendo Switch accessories themed after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have yet to be announced. There is a chance that third-party accessories themed after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom may be available for purchase at a later date.
