On a trip to Paris, our writer Jaxson Tapp has made a fascinating discovery. Or perhaps I should say: stepped back in time to ten years ago when the New 3DS XL was Nintendo’s latest, greatest handheld.

Either way, he stepped into The Lourve to find that his audio guide would be none other than the Nintendo New 3DS XL. And we have the pics to prove it! What an unexpected time capsule.

There was a time where Nintendo handhelds could connect you to the McDonald’s website or lead you on a tour of the most famous art museum in the world. That’s right. A Happy Meal and fine art are intrinsically connected through the power of the Nintendo DS.

To our surprise, the New 3DS XL’s contained at The Lourve are still in pristine condition. The Switch 2 being so close to finally being formally revealed has me wondering if one day the Nintendo Switch will take us through the Smithsonian or something.
