Laura Kate Dale, one of several leakers who were right on the money with the Nintendo Switch, has come forward with another rumor claiming the release date of the system, at least in PAL territories – March 17th.

This date lands on a Friday which is typical for home console releases in the region. Laura Kate Dale also claims the system will launch that same week in other territories, but not necessarily on the same date. This marks a change from both the 3DS and Wii U; the former launched a few days later in the US while the Wii U released in North America almost 2 weeks ahead of Europe and Australia.

The date supposedly comes from the same source who revealed the trailer date before it was made official, too. Still, we’re a few months out from release and launch plans can always change. What is particularly noteworthy in that regard is that it doesn’t work with the accidental release date given to the Breath of the Wild series amiibo, although it is possible the Wii U version of the game will launch early.

Regardless of the rumor’s validity we should finally find out when the Switch will launch in the special event scheduled for January 12th, and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as it’s made public.
