Hot on the heels of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam there are whispers of a brand new Mario RPG in the works for the Wii U.

The as-of-yet unnamed Paper Mario title is apparently already in the midst of being localized and tested, with five anonymous sources relaying information to a group of trusted Twitter users who specialize in finding out these kinds of behind the scenes details.

While this is a rumor, there is a history of accurate predictions backing up the group’s claims. For example, Emily Rogers found out that Miiverse and the Nintendo Network ID system would be heading to the 3DS months ahead of its late 2013 release, and Liam Robertson uncovered details regarding the cancelled Wii game Project H.A.M.M.E.R. last year.

Of course it’s always safe to be skeptical, but a brand new console Paper Mario is somewhat overdue. Whether such a game could make up for the divisive Sticker Star, however, is another question entirely.
