Reece is a UK-based video game reporter, editor, and First-class journalism graduate with over a decade of experience. A Zelda Universe editor since 2013, he has written hundreds of articles — spanning news, features, columns, guides, and reviews — while also editing and publishing the work of contributors he personally recruited and mentored.
Alongside his work in games media, Reece’s broader journalism experience spans writing style guides, producing TV and radio packages, managing newsrooms, overseeing social media coverage, and contributing to local newspapers. He also edited the 2021 novel Vagabond, and is currently working on more long-form fiction projects with Ariaera Books.
Reece’s relationship with Nintendo began early and shows no signs of slowing. It started with a childhood Game Boy and solidified after a narrow escape from Santa’s Naughty List in 1998, which resulted in a Nintendo 64 and a lifelong obsession. Today, he still obsesses over Nintendo — mostly from behind a keyboard rather than sprawled out on a living room floor.
When he’s not playing games or writing about them, Reece can usually be found reading Punisher comics, being bossed around by his cocker spaniel, or publicly exposing his questionable taste in films via Letterboxd. It’s a good thing his ego is too big to allow him to squeeze out of his front door, otherwise he’d be out in public cornering innocent bystanders to explain — at length — why video game preservation actually matters.
