Samurai Shodown is another great fighting franchise making its way to Nintendo Switch, but before the new title comes out later this June you might be curious about the series’ roots. That’s where SNK comes in with an announcement made this weekend: Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection is coming later this year! Announced for Switch and other platforms, it’ll bring together the first five Samurai Shodown games, as well as Samurai Shodown V Special.

Also revealed during the PAX East panel was a character for the upcoming Samurai Shodown game. Unlike the cast revealed so far, this is one of three brand new characters for the game. You can meet Darli Dagger, a shipwright and pirate who fights with a giant saw, later in the same panel:
If you’re interested in the series, it’s definitely worth watching the panel in its entirety to learn about some history and what you can expect for the upcoming revival.
