While you wouldn’t necessarily associate the Assassin’s Creed franchise with Nintendo, it has crossed over to the company’s shores a few times, with a few DS spin-offs and the fully fledged III and Black Flag landing on the Wii U. After that though the franchise was a no-show, but that may finally be changing next year.
As Gematsu reports, German retailer Media Markt has listed an “Assassin’s Creed Compilation” for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, with no further information provided. It’s somewhat unlikely that the compilation will feature the Ezio Trilogy, which has already released on the former two platforms, and we already know that Origins and Odyssey would almost certainly require cloud streaming to run on Switch. This leaves the original game, the handheld spin-offs, potentially Unity and Syndicate with some down-scaling, and the America-set games (III, IV, Liberation and Rogue) as the most likely candidates.
Of course the entire rumor could be false, but it has a few things going for it. For starters, the same site also lists the enigmatic Ubisoft-published game “Bowmore” for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with this being the first time we’ve heard of it. Given the fact Ubisoft is headquartered in Europe, it makes sense that some information could slip past retailers accidentally.
