There’ve already been a handful of oddball Assist Trophies with free reign over the stage view, like the Pac-Man Ghosts and Color TV-Game 15, but this latest one is actually a hand-full. Flies & Hand comes from an interesting corner of the Mario series, that being the mouse based SNES game Mario Paint.

More specifically they’re from a minigame within the package; one that’s gone on to get featured in various WarioWare titles and even Super Mario Maker. No gnat or enemy fighter is safe – that swatter takes no prisoners here. Of course, after seeing what a few hands did to the game’s roster in World of Light, maybe this Assist Trophy’s more of a threat than we could’ve ever imagined…
