The marketing for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been rather different compared to its predecessors – the plan was to reveal every playable fighter ahead of release, in order to mitigate leaks similar to those that spoiled Duck Hunt and more. With this latest rumor, it seems Sakurai and co. were right to take those precautions.

Twitter user Luis Fernando Mendoza Arias has shared a photo of the games inlay art and a character selection screen we’ve yet to see elsewhere.

The fanmade Super Smash Bros. Ultimate News Twitter account has privately confirmed the box as legitimate, while also stating that the owner doesn’t wish to spoil anything significant. That said, if one person has it this early, it’s possible others have it, too.

Rest assured we won’t post anything that isn’t shared by Nintendo itself in the coming weeks without hefty spoiler warnings and vague images. We gotta experience those bosses fresh, right?
